Murray Could Coach Raducanu Reveals His Doubles Partner From Olympic Silver Medal Run

Former WTA player Laura Robson thinks Andy Murray would be an excellent tennis coach, and he's interested in that.

There are two unique tennis experiences in the world: being a player and being a coach. Both are similar in the sense that both require traveling, at least when it comes to coaching on the ATP or WTA Tour.

Of course, there are also stationary coaches, which might be the way Murray gets into coaching. According to former player Robson, who is close to Murray, having won the Olympic silver medal with him in mixed doubles at the 2012 Olympics in London, the Brit is open to coaching in the future.

He has also admitted it publicly, but it won't happen anytime soon. Murray just finished his tennis career, and right now, he wants to get away from tennis and spend time with his family.

He's been around the sport for many years, and sometimes, even athletes have to disconnect from their sport. Still, according to Robson, who spoke to British publication Metro, Murray would be a great coach to anybody due to various factors, including his skill and vast experience.

"Andy would be a great coach to anyone. I’ve said this to him over the last couple weeks when I have seen him: You would be amazing! ‘He’s got such an analytical mind. He loves the technique and the tactics and all the minor details you can do in tennis to improve by one per cent."

"He’d be great at working with anyone. I know he has been helping some of the junior guys. He invited them to some practice sessions and he had some time in Greece with them before the Olympics. I think in a way he would prefer a junior, because then it’s a fresh challenge."

Another huge bonus for Murray is that he simply loves tennis. To be really great at coaching the sport, the coach has to love it, and there is no doubt that the three-time major winner loves tennis.

He also has a lot of experience, being one of the players that competed in most matches on the ATP Tour and also one of the best ever, so there is just a lot that he can share with players. According to Robson, those players could be British talents Emma Raducanu or Jack Draper.

"He loves the sport so much. He would be a huge advantage in anyone’s player box. I can definitely see him working with Emma Raducanu or Jack Draper. He’s just got so much advice to give."

Another huge bonus for Murray is simply his desire to become a coach. He's open to it, unlike Roger Federer, who was open about never being interested in coaching.

Murray would be open to it, and it's very likely that he will do that in the future, but it won't happen anytime soon because the Brit is sick of traveling right now.

"That’s something I could see myself doing. But I don’t want to travel just now. So that would be something for further down the line."
