Daniil Medvedev continued his impressive run at the 2023 Indian Wells Open, overcoming Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a hard-fought quarter-final match.

It seems that no one can stop Medvedev at the moment, as he just keeps winning. His winning streak started already in Rotterdam, where he won the title, and it continued in Doha and Dubai.

Medvedev took it with him on the plane to the United States, as he continued performing impressively also at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells.

In his first match, he beat Brandon Nakashima. After that, Medvedev outplayed Ilya Ivashka, but his fourth-round match wasn't easy. Medvedev was injured against Alexander Zverev but still won the match.

It wasn't clear whether he would play his quarter-final match against the 23rd-seeded Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, but he did. And he played well.

Medvedev started by breaking his opponent's first service game, and from there, he was unchallenged on his serve. The Russian player was just winning one game after another, marching towards an easy first-set win.

He didn't face a single break point in the first set, which is why he was able to win it relatively easily 6-3. Davidovich Fokina had to find an answer if he wanted to compete for the semi-final spot.

He almost found it at the start of the second set. Not once, not twice, not three times, but four times in a row, the Spaniard had at least one break point on Medvedev's serve.

Unfortunately for him, he wasn't able to use it, and Medvedev's experience prevailed in the end, as he found his way to another break point. He won the match 6-3, 7-5, securing a semi-final spot in Indian Wells.

In the semi-final of the tournament, the Russian player will take on Frances Tiafoe, who bested Cameron Norrie in a quarter-final match played earlier.
