Nick Kyrgios participated in a revealing interview with Esquire Australia to mark the magazine's relaunch in the country.

Kyrgios has not featured in any match on the ATP Tour during the 2023 season and he most recently missed out on the 2023 Roland Garros, although he is hopeful of making a return to the grass court season.

The 28-year-old now has a return to Wimbledon in his sights, while his doubles partner Thanasi Kokkinakis also dropped a hint that the pair were likely to compete in the men's doubles event at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

During his time away from tennis due to injury and surgeries, Kyrgios has been more vocal on social media, providing commentary on big matches and on developments within the game.

In his latest venture, Kyrgios became the cover story for Esquire Australia's re-launch in the county and the publication dropped a short teaser of the interview on Instagram, where the 28-year-old outlines some of the challenges in his life and career so far.

"I didn’t realize how many ups and downs there would be, I wish I knew that there were gonna be some really tough times and some really brutal times ahead, and there were gonna be some amazing moments… At a young age, I would ride the highs and lows a lot and that was exhausting.”

Kyrgios said to Esquire Australia

In addition, the publication provided a short foreword about the content of the upcoming interview with Kyrgios, which is set to outline some of his personal turmoil as a professional tennis star. The interview will launch on June 8 online and in print.

"Love him or hate him, you can’t ignore the talent of Nick Kyrgios. In his Esquire Australia cover story, the mercurial tennis star from Canberra opens up about the highs and lows of his career so far, and the pressure of becoming one of the most iconic athletes in Australian sport."
