Jannik Sinner has reportedly signed a mammoth multi-million dollar deal with clothing sponsor Nike for a period of ten years.

Sinner was recently proclaimed the "future of tennis" by Italian sports outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport. Last year, Sinner broke into the world's Top 10 for the first time in his young career after a career-best season that yielded four ATP titles, including the ATP 500 in Washington.

Although he has dropped a couple of spots to 12th in 2022, Sinner has remained a consistent force on the ATP Tour. The 20-year-old has long been an ambassador of Nike, and the company's late offer is an indication that they believe he is destined for a fruitful career at the top level.

Sinner has signed a €150 million deal lasting ten years and, which will comfortably hand him approximately €15 million per season. The latest contract will make him one of the highest-paid tennis players in the world.

A point to note is that this deal is pure earnings from endorsements now that Sinner is considered one of the company's prized assets and does not include prize money. Sinner earned over $2 million in prize money last season and is off to a great start in 2022 despite zero titles to show for his efforts.

Sinner has already reached four quarterfinals this season, including at his most recent tournament in Rome, which would follow this news. Many other players, such as Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios, and Andrey Rublev, have sponsorships with Nike.

On the other hand, some players prefer Nike's biggest competitor, Adidas, for example Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Dominic Thiem or Felix Auger-Aliassime.

However, some players choose less common brands, such as Uniqlo, which sponsors Roger Federer, or Lacoste, which sponsors Novak Djokovic. On the other hand, Fabio Fognini and Nikoloz Basilashvili are sponsored by Emporio Armani.
