'I Feel Like I Might Get Made Fun Of': Fritz On Making Fashion Show Debut Ahead Of Laver Cup

Taylor Fritz enjoyed a recent fashion show from a different spot, walking down the runway for French design house Hermes.

The American shared his thoughts on the fact that he fully expects to get some playful remarks from some of his Laver Cup teammates after making the decision to dive into the world of fashion.

Some of the American players mentioned during the US Open that there was a lot of banter and playful teasing amongst one another behind the scenes. Fritz has said that he expects even more coming in his direction after taking the leap into the fashion industry, pursuing another one of his many passions.

Fritz made his fashion show debut by walking down the runway for the French luxury design house Hermes. The American was modeling some of their 2023 winter collection. Since then, Fritz has been preparing to play in the 2023 edition of the Laver Cup.

The event's social media team playfully asked whether the rest of his teammates would feel some intimidation competing alongside an international runaway model. That was when Fritz recalled the teasing he gave to Frances Tiafoe last year for something very similar.

"I don't know how I can answer. I feel like I might get made fun of, to be honest, but we will see. I think last year I gave Frances a lot of sh*t for doing the whole Fashion Week thing and I think I'm going to get it back in return this year."

Fritz will now set his sights on representing Team World for the upcoming Laver Cup in Vancouver, which will take place between September 22nd through to September 24th.

Team World historically have come into this event as the considerable underdogs, but they will be buoyed by their sole victory at the event last year.

The line-up this year is muchly changed due to the notable absences of now-retired Roger Federer, the injury issues of both Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios, and as a result that has led to a massive opportunity for lesser-known players to make a big splash.

Fritz will be part of a team featuring Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton, Francisco Cerundolo, Tommy Paul and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
