Roger Federer's retirement from professional tennis has been commemorated by clothing manufacturer Uniqlo in a special cap branded with the former player's iconic 'RF' logo.
The limited edition cap is all black and pays tribute to Federer's 20 career Grand Slam titles with the gold-coloured 'RF' logo. Uniqlo, who have sponsored Federer since 2018, announced the launch of the unique item on Twitter.
Federer also took the opportunity to express his gratification with the cap and reacted to his pride over the symbolic 'RF' emblem. But the 41-year-old also shared his heartfelt appreciation towards his fans and their support during his time on the court.
"The RF Cap has been a very special part of my tennis career and allowed me to have a connection with my amazing fans. I feel grateful for all the love and support and hope people can enjoy this commemorative edition."
In September 2022, Federer retired from tennis after featuring in the Laver Cup alongside Rafael Nadal for Team Europe at London's O2 Arena. Although Federer and Nadal lost their match against American doubles team Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock, the appearance gave Federer a platform to say an emotional farewell.
During his 24-year tennis career, Federer won eight Wimbledon titles, six Australian Opens, five US Opens and one French Open title. The Swiss player also reached 31 Grand Slam finals.
