Stefanos Tsitsipas didn't play well at the 2022 US Open, and he discussed his past few weeks in Stockholm.

The Greek player surprisingly lost in the opening round of the New York Slam. Daniel Elahi Galan was better that Tsitsipas, beating him 6-0, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5.

The Greek player then finally found some good tennis, winning two Davis Cup matches and even reaching the Astana Open final. On his way to the final in Astana, Tsitsipas beat Hubert Hurkacz and Andrey Rublev before losing to Novak Djokovic.

Now, he's competing at the Stockholm Open, where he handled his first match against Maxime Cressy. Tsitsipas beat the American player in two tie-breaks 7-6(5), 7-6(12).

During his stay in the Swedish capital, Tsitsipas spoke to Swedish SVT in Stockholm. The Greek player discussed his past few weeks, calling the "emotional roller coasters."

"I would call them emotional roller coasters. Starting off with the US Open, which was probably one of the worst performances so far of my career. That particular match. I didn’t feel like myself at all on the court that day."

He admitted that he didn't feel like himself at the US Open. At the same time, he came to love the game again after he found some success on the tennis courts again in recent weeks.

"The last couple of weeks have been great, it’s been a big transformation in terms of my psychological state. In terms of my love for the game as well. I’ve been much more in love with what I do. I feel much more connected with it."
"I feel much more happy to be out there on court and working every single day which is extremely important for me because this is what I do for a living. I really like the state of mind that I am at currently."
