'Defeats Himself': Agassi Hilariously Taunts McEnroe Ahead Of Pickleball Slam 2

Andre Agassi is set to compete against John McEnroe at Pickleball Slam 2, and he humorously mocked his fellow American ahead of the event.

Agassi has been retired for over 17 years since losing his final match to German Benjamin Becker, but he still takes an active role in events, and his image always generates attention.

The eight-time Grand Slam champion plays in some tennis-based initiatives. An example is Simona Halep being set for a tennis return alongside Agassi and Steffi Graf. This will undoubtedly create some headlines when it takes place.

Agassi also occasionally comments on the current world of tennis. For instance, he recently said that he respects the honesty of Nick Kyrgios and also gave some advice to the notoriously fiery Australian.

However, the 53-year-old is also involved in the world of pickleball. In the first Pickleball Slam in April 2023, Agassi partnered with Andy Roddick and defeated McEnroe and Michael Chang 3-1.

This year, Agassi is teaming up with his wife and tennis legend Steffi Graf, while McEnroe is playing alongside five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova. Ahead of the event, Agassi poked fun at McEnroe's mentality ahead of the event.

"Mac is one of those guys who you don't have to overthink your strategy because he kinda defeats himself, I'm counting on that as game plan A."

Agassi then said his other game plan is simply being better alongside Graf, but he also felt Sharapova could be effective at the tournament, which is set to take place on February 4th of this year.

"But game plan B is being so much better,  (then Steffi Graf points to herself) my secret weapon. We have 30 Grand Slams and Mac has 7. I'm worried about Maria though because if she gets into pickleball I can see her being effective."
