When it comes to fashion and style, not many people can outclass Roger Federer, which is why Ben Shelton has been inspired by the Swiss' taste for impressive attire.

The 42-year-old was a balletic mover on a tennis court and possessed the ability to flash some silky backhand shots that could make a cameo in any tennis hot shot reel. He was ranked World No. 1 for 310 weeks and won 20 Grand Slams, among other significant achievements.

During his distinguished playing career that spanned nearly three decades, Federer was a modern-day inspiration to how athletes approach and choose their on-court attire.

When the Swiss trudged to a tennis court, he was always a symbol of class in how he played the sport and grace in how he complemented his style with tailored tennis clothing that gave him a distinct look.

Federer set tennis fashion trends and collaborated with clothing companies like Nike in the past, and currently, Japanese casual wear designer Uniqlo and luxury watch manufacturer Rolex.

Because of his penchant for fashion, Federer invested in On Running - a Swiss sportswear company - which the Swiss great helped launch its first tennis shoe in 2021.

21-year-old Ben Shelton is one of the global brand ambassadors for On and has recently revealed how his peers envy his ostentatious tennis gear. The young American admits he draws inspiration from Federer, who can never put a foot wrong when dressing for any occasion.

"I get style inspiration from different people, other athletes, and Instagram. Roger is one of those guys who can do it all. He can do it on the court, he can do it off the court, he can do it at the Met Gala, he can do it at Wimbledon."
"There’s this great tradition and rich history in tennis. A lot of the brands other players are wearing – they don't make much outside of traditional clothes, so my buddies on tour are definitely jealous of the gradient kit I've been wearing. They all want to touch it."
