'Hard To Bet Against Djokovic' At Australian Open: 'He's Already GOAT' Says Former British No. 1

by Jordan Reynolds

Novak Djokovic has been backed to win the Australian Open for an unprecedented 11th time by a former British player.

Djokovic is the favorite at the Grand Slam, where he has had his most success. Understandably, the Serbian has a huge belief in his ability, and Djokovic has identified himself as his biggest Australian Open threat.

Another factor that could make the 24-time Grand Slam champion so formidable is the fact he has records to pursue at this year's Australian Open. After all, he has achieved, it is incredible that Djokovic still has records that he could break.

Although Djokovic enters as the favorite, there are many top players who will try to topple the Serbian. One of these men is Carlos Alcaraz, who has sad that he finds motivation from trying to challenge Djokovic.

Other players seeking to challenge are two-time runner-up in Melbourne, Daniil Medvedev, and Jannik Sinner, who made huge improvements at the end of last season.

However, former British No. 1 Laura Robson does not believe those players will stop Djokovic. Writing for Sky Sports, she found it impossible not to back Djokovic.

"It's hard to bet against Novak Djokovic. He is already the GOAT and I'd give him that title happily."

Robson on backing Djokovic

Robson clearly thinks Djokovic is the greatest ever, and she also says trying to understand Djokovic's mindset is something that fascinates her.

"It's hard to imagine what motivates him to this point and that's the most fascinating thing about hearing him talk. A 25th Grand Slam takes him past Margaret Court. It would be amazing for tennis for someone to hit those numbers."

Robson on Djokovic's motivation

.There does not appear to be any end in sight for Djokovic right now. His level and motivation are as high as ever, and that is going to continue to make it tough for all his rivals.
