Federer Releases New Line Of Signature Rackets With Wilson

Roger Federer has a new collaboration with Wilson called the 'RF Collection,' which he hopes will elevate the sport of tennis even further.

Many credit Federer with popularizing tennis again. For a while, the sport took a backseat in the sports hierarchy as there wasn't much hype around it. Then came this kid from Switzerland who quickly started to amaze with his level, and a star was born.

Federer became a tennis phenomenon and kicked off a revival in tennis, which saw it emerge as one of the most popular sports in the world. He would soon be joined by Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, and the rest is well-documented history.

Most of the players who compete on the ATP Tour today were only kids when he came up, and most of them idolized him. Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Alexander Zverev are just some of the players who fell in love with tennis thanks to Federer.

One-handed backhands are still being used around the Tour, largely thanks to him as well, so the impact is undeniable. On top of his legacy, he has a signature RF logo that looks great on a shirt, hat, or racquet, and he can use it again after a long court battle with Nike.

Wilson is also a company he has worked with for a long time, which is part of why many players use their racquets. This most recent collaboration resulted in a new collection of signature racquets, which Federer hopes will elevate the sport of tennis even further.

"Having spent my whole career playing with Wilson racket, I’m excited about the new RF Collection that we’ve created together. I hope the collection inspires the stars of today as much as I was inspired the first time that I picked up a Wilson racket."

Wilson and Federer have collaborated many times in the past, and this is just the most recent team-up that will bring three new racquets on the market. The one that he had the most input on is called the RF 01 Pro, and there are two more models, RF 01 and RF 01 Future.

The Swiss Maestro has been using Wilson racquets for a very long time and has been content with them for years. This new collection was a collaboration between Wilson and Federer, with the new tech the company has at their disposal, as well as Federer and his vast experience with tennis racquets.

Federer clearly envisioned what he wanted to do, and he thinks they did it well. The announcement was also accompanied by a video released on Instagram by Wilson, in which Federer spoke a bit about the process.

"You know, here we are many years later, and I'm designing my own collection together with Wilson. We have elements with RF, we have elements with Wilson and I feel like we struck a good balance. I wanted to make it more user-friendly and player friendly, not just for the people but also for myself."
