Novak Djokovic was in action in the 2023 United Cup doubles, and he won that match, teaming up with Olga Danilovic, ensuring that Serbia won the tie against China as well.

It's going to be a very busy week for Novak Djokovic at the United Cup because he'll have to play the hero quite often. Olga Danilovic is a capable player and will win a few matches, but today, she stood no chance against Qinwen Zheng, who is a rising star.

Djokovic himself secured the first point for Serbia by beating Zhizhen Zhang earlier today. That meant that the doubles would decide whether Serbia or China secured the win. So, Djokovic suited up once more to play with Danilovic, and it was a pretty great match.

We saw a lot of good points, quite a bit of battling, and a close finish. The opening set went to the Serbians as they could grind down their opponents. Djokovic proved vital in that as he created a lot of pressure with his return.

Both Zheng and Zhang have good serves, but they gave too many chances in the opening set, and it proved their undoing. The second set was much better for the Chinese team as they broke early and then added another break to take a 4-0 lead.

The Serbians dropped their focus, and that proved to be a problem. They would snap out of it ahead of the match tiebreak and then deliver a pretty stern performance. The start was close as neither team was able to create any separation, but eventually, Djokovic did his thing and powered his team to victory.

The final score was 6-4, 1-6, and 10-6 for the Serbians, who won this very crucial tie 2-1 overall. They'll need every win they can get, and Djokovic was clearly the team's best player.
