Djokovic Prepares For Life After Tennis By Signing Lucrative Sponsorship Deal

Novak Djokovic does not seem to be planning on retiring anytime soon, but he is still preparing for when that day comes by signing lucrative deals.

Djokovic created headlines for his surprising loss to Alexei Popyrin on Friday night at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Although his Australian opponent has played great tennis this year, the result was still surprising.

The four-time US Open champion's failure to defend the title he won last year at Flushing Meadows means he will lose many ranking points when the rankings are updated. Djokovic could miss out on the ATP Finals if he does not have a solid end to the season.

His chances of making it to the season-ending event are even more limited due to his surprising decision not to sign up for the events in either Beijing or Tokyo after the US Open. His results in other tournaments must be perfect.

Although Djokovic was the favorite to overcome Popyrin, many were not shocked by his defeat. Martina Navratilova was unsurprised, saying she thought the Serbian's run to the Olympics took a toll on him.

Although Djokovic has failed to win a Grand Slam during a season for the first time since 2017, his motivation to play is undiminished, as proven by the tennis legend's social media post that he would see the fans in New York next year.

However, that does not mean Djokovic cannot get more involved in activities off the court at his age. He was confirmed to be the first Global Wellness Advisor for Aman, confirmed in a statement by the company.

"Entering a multi-year partnership, he brings a wealth of expertise, both on and off the court, to the Aman guest experience, enhancing an ever-evolving approach to health, fitness and wellbeing."

"Aligning with Aman’s wellness philosophy and the notion of longevity that rests at its heart, Djokovic is an athlete whose resilience and adaptability have allowed him to stay at the pinnacle of the sport for over a decade."

“With 24 Grand Slam titles to his name, Djokovic’s pursuit of excellence sets him apart as a true icon with a trajectory that extends far beyond tennis success; his dedication having inspired countless professional athletes."

"The partnership will grow and develop year-on-year, with early plans across the Aman globe including hosted wellness retreats and specially curated programmes available to guests year-round."

Djokovic also commented on the partnership. The former world No. 1 expressed his excitement about sharing all he has learned about wellness with Aman's guests.

"Over the years, I have cultivated a comprehensive daily wellness routine, combining mental health, nutrition and fitness, that has enabled me to achieve sustained success both on the global stage and in my personal life. Sharing those learnings with Aman guests will be both a privilege and a pleasure."

Djokovic has spoken many times about his journey with diet and lifestyle. Aman's guests will undoubtedly be thrilled to hear his insights on those issues.
