Carlos Alcaraz confirmed his participation at the 2022 Mubadala World Tennis Championship in December.

Alcaraz shone bright in the spotlight this year. He grabbed the attention of tennis fans already in the summer, and confirmed his incredible talent at the US Open. The young Spaniard won his maiden Grand Slam title and became the youngest-ever man to reach the World No. 1 rank.

With his success and increased marketing potential, many tournament organizers showed interest in signing up Alcaraz for their event. That applies also to exhibition tournaments.

Alcaraz will make his debut at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, which is a popular exhibition event in Abu Dhabi. The Spaniard will appear on the tennis courts in December, and he was happy to announce his participation.

"I can’t wait to participate in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi. I’ve seen a lot of players take part in the tournament, and everyone really looks forward to it."

Emma Raducanu and Ons Jabeur were the two previously announced players. Alcaraz now joined the growing list of players who signed up for this exhibition, which naturally delighted the Flash Entertainment CEO, John Lickrish.

"World No. 1, Carlos Alcaraz has had an incredible year after becoming the youngest ATP 500 champion in Rio de Janeiro back in February to winning the US Open a few weeks ago. MWTC has a history of getting the top players to compete in Abu Dhabi."
"It’s a promise we’ve never had any qualms about making to the tennis fans in the region, and we have fulfilled that once again. I have no doubt spectators will enjoy seeing Carlos compete here for the first time, and we are excited to see such a sensational young talent and a new generation of superstars at the Championship."
