Carlos Alcaraz has won a set in the first 50 matches of the season he played and he matched Novak Djokovic's run in 2011.
Novak Djokovic had an excellent 2011 season as the Serbian won at least one set in all of the first 50 matches he played that year. It's an incredible display of consistency showing that a player is competitive even when his level is not the best it can be. It's one of the reasons Djokovic spent so much time at the top of tennis because he's incredibly hard to beat, you can't just outplay him without him finding a way to counter you.
Over a decade later we have another player who showed a very similar level of consistency. Carlos Alcaraz matched that achievement by Djokovic by winning a set against Tommy Paul in a match that he ended up losing. What's particularly striking is the fact that Alcaraz achieved it at age 19 compared to Djokovic who did it at age 24.
The Spaniard did lose the match and he's experiencing quite a weak stretch of results but he's still being competitive in most of them.
