Two ATP top ten players, Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune, have been announced as participants at the 2023 Swiss Indoors competition in Basel, in October.

Alcaraz and Rune are the first high-profile players to confirm their attendance at the Swiss Indoors this season, which takes place between October 21 and 29. The two teenage players have risen to the top of the ATP rankings after impressive 2022 and 2023 seasons so far and the players will continue later this week.

Spanish 19-year-old Alacaraz ranked number two, has sustained his high levels in 2023 and added the Barcelona Open title to his list of achievements already this season. Rune, number seven in the ATP rankings, has also been consistent and won his first ATP title last week, with a final win at the Munich Open against Botic van de Zandschulp.

In addition, Rune will be looking to go one step further at the Swiss Indoors in 2023 after he reached the final last season but eventually lost the final in straight sets against Felix Auger-Aliassime. Alcaraz also went far in the competition and got to the semi-finals before also losing to Auger-Aliassime.

The 2023 schedule for the Swiss Indoors has already been announced and Alcaraz will start his tournament on Monday, October 23 at St. Jakob. However, Rune has a later start and the Danish player will get his campaign started on Tuesday, October 24.
