Alcaraz's Latest Injury 'A Real Worry' With Sinner More Likely To Have Better Career Says Stubbs

Rennae Stubbs made a pretty interesting claim, saying that Jannik Sinner is more likely to have a better career than Carlos Alcaraz because of injuries.

One of the most fascinating rivalries on the ATP Tour right now is the one between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. While it has written plenty of great chapters so far, its potential makes it even greater.

Very few doubt that it will be 'the rivalry' for the next ten years as it has all the hallmarks of a great one. What's interesting about the rivalry is how it's perceived. Initially, many believed that Alcaraz was the one that would end up having a better career.

He looked more physically imposing on a tennis court, while Sinner looked quite frail and skinny. Well, the Spaniard has had more injuries in recent months, and now the perception has somewhat shifted, at least for Rennae Stubbs.

She talked about it in a recent episode of her podcast, admitting that Sinner looks more likely to have a better career at the moment.

"He [Carlos Alcaraz] has done his ankle, they're all hoping he's going to be back for his Netflix thing in Vegas, a lot of money on the line. But you know, Jesus man, it's a worry, it's a real worry."

"When you think about if you had to put money on a player doing better in their career over the next decade between Sinner and Alcaraz, I'd put it on Sinner. I think he's physically better, I think he has more game. I actually think he's a better all-round player at the moment."

Obviously, the comments by Stubbs are mostly impacted by recency bias. Sinner was a much better player in the past six months and is currently ahead of Alcaraz. He's been healthier, but the Spanish player certainly has capabilities of catching up.
