Alcaraz Assesses Chances Of Sinner Beating Djokovic At Australian Open

by Zachary Wimer

Carlos Alcaraz is out of the 2024 Australian Open, but Jannik Sinner is not, and the Spaniard spoke about the Italian's chances after his exit.

The two-time major winner was expected to go deep at the Australian Open, and while he played well, he didn't go as far as many, probably including him, expected.

He faced Alexander Zverev for a spot in the semi-final but failed to beat him, losing in four sets. It was a disappointing exit for him, but the show must go on.

We need to find out who will win the event, and it might be one of Jannik Sinner or Novak Djokovic. They're playing against each other, with the winner going to the final.

Many assume that the winning player will be the favorite in the final, so who will it be? Well, when it comes to Alcaraz, he can see Sinner beating Djokovic.

"Well, I think the players that are in the semifinals have the level to beat him. Let's see. It's not easy to beat Novak in a tournament, but I think it's even tougher in a Grand Slam. But he has to face Jannik Sinner, that he's playing an unbelievable game."

Alcaraz on the semi-finals

The semi-final matchups are pretty interesting. Besides Djokovic and Sinner, the other semi-final should be quite interesting, with Daniil Medvedev taking on Alexander Zverev.

"He has not dropped a set in this tournament. That means that he has the level and the capacity to beat Novak. So let's see. I'm gonna watch the matches, of course. And yeah, I think the players that are in this stage has the level to beat him."

Alcaraz on Sinner

One of these four will win the trophy, one Alcaraz wanted for himself. Unfortunately, it didn't work out, but there are a few Grand Slams coming later this year, where he can try to do it again.
