2023 Roland Garros French Open ATP Draw With Djokovic & Alcaraz In Same Half

The 2023 Roland Garros, also called the French Open, will run from May 28th to June 11th and the ATP draw was already released.

In 2023, the tournament will be held without the defending champion Rafael Nadal, who withdrew from the tournament. But there certainly won't be a lack of challengers as Novak Djokovic will try to use the absence of his biggest rival to win his 23rd Grand Slam title.

But the Serb is seeded only third in Paris, and in the first round, he will play against Aleksandar Kovacevic in an attempt to overcome the bad clay-court form that he had this year. But all eyes will be on the top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz.

The 20-year-old suffered a shocking loss in Rome, but he will try to use that to his advantage in the first round against one of the qualifiers. If he'll meet the Serbian superstar, it will happen already in the semifinals as the two appeared in the same part of the draw.

On the other hand, Daniil Medvedev was the surprising winner of the 2023 Italian Open and the Russian will want to keep his momentum also against one of the qualifiers in the first round.

But especially on clay, there are many players that are capable of causing an upset. Last year's finalist, Casper Ruud is certainly one of them as the Norwegian will start against a qualifier in the first round of the tournament.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is another very good clay-court player and he will start his journey on the Parisian clay against Jiri Vesely. Another 20-year-old in the draw, Holger Rune will want to stun the world, but he will need to start with a first-round match as everyone else, and his will be against Christopher Eubanks.

Jannik Sinner will be also one of the contenders and the Italian will start the tournament as a dark horse. He'll start against Alexandre Muller in the first round. Andrey Rublev is another name that shouldn't be forgotten as he'll meet Laslo Djere in the first round.
