It's no secret that women's world number 1, Iga Swiatek, is a big admirer of Rafael Nadal, and she also showed that she can imitate her idol very well.
Iga Swiatek will play at the 2022 Roland Garros, where she will start against a qualifier. On the other hand, her idol, Rafael Nadal, will play against Jordan Thompson as both players are one of the biggest favorites to triumph at the second Grand Slam of the season.
In the past, the Spaniard has won the tournament 13 times, while the Polish player won the event in 2020, and reached the quarterfinals in 2021, losing to Maria Sakkari in straight sets.
Now, ahead of her fourth participation at the tournament, a video surfaced online, in which the Polish player was asked to imitate her idol, and it didn't take long before fans noticed who it was.
Of course, it was clear also before that Swiatek was a big admirer of Nadal, as she spoke highly about the Spaniard, also before.
"Nadal is the greatest of all time in tennis right now. He has some superpowers, just never gives up. He is the perfect role model."
Because of her admiration of the legendary Spaniard, it doesn't come as a surprise that Swiatek's strongest surface is clay, and her career record on the surface only proves it, having lost only 14 matches on the red clay in her career.
The two also met at the 2022 Roland Garros when Nadal came to meet the young Pole during the practice. On a practice court, Swiatek showed that she knew her idol very well when she imitated him, and it turned out to be quite good.
After winning the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and triumphing also in Rome, Swiatek will attempt to win her third consecutive clay event in Paris over the following fortnight.
