The United States emerged victorious over the United Kingdom in the City Final of the inaugural United Cup, a team competition featuring top players from both countries.

The event was played in a first-to-three format with two ATP & WTA singles matches, and mixed doubles match if necessary. Both the US and the UK won their respective groups, setting up a City Final showdown for a spot in the Final Four.

In the first match of the day, Madison Keys took on Katie Swan. Swan started strong, winning the first set 6-2, but Keys fought back to take the next two sets 6-3, 6-4, securing the first point for the US in two hours and 16 minutes.

Next up, Taylor Fritz faced off against Cameron Norrie, as none of the players lost at the event before, in a closely contested battle. Norie won the first set 6-4, but despite the effort from the American to come back by winning the second set 7-5, Norrie won the decider 6-4, giving the UK their first point of the day.

In the third match, Jessica Pegula faced off against Harriet Dart and dominated from start to finish, winning 6-2, 6-0. The match took only 57 minutes and gave the US team a match point ahead of the last men's singles match.

That saw Frances Tiafoe square off against Daniel Evans. Tiafoe had a slow start, losing the first set 3-6, but he fought back to take the second 7-5. In the final set, Tiafoe sealed the deal with a 6-3 victory, giving the US a 3-1 win over the UK.

The United States will now advance to the Final Four, where they will face off against one of the other City Final winners. It was a tough loss for the UK, but they will have to regroup and prepare for the next edition of the United Cup.
