Coco Gauff let it slip last year that she has a boyfriend, and since then, it's been a very interesting topic for many fans.
The American player is quite protective of her private life. She has an active social media presence, but the closest things to her are kept under wraps. She never spoke about relationships before, but she did let it slip last year during the US Open that she does indeed have a boyfriend.
She got more comfortable speaking about it as time went on but still kept it quite private. We don't really know who the person is, but in a recent interview with Vogue, Gauff admitted that some people have figured it out. She commented on his Twitter, and a few people connected the dots.
"He’s a very nice guy. He’s in school now. He’s about to apply for music school. He wants to be an actor and he plays the guitar. He’s not from Delray. He’s actually from Atlanta."
"And actually, um, I will say this: People on Twitter found him two or three days ago. I won’t respond and confirm if it’s him or not, but they caught me in the comments, so they know. Some people thought it was someone in tennis and that couldn’t be further from the truth."
They haven't been spotted in public yet, but the fact that her boyfriend is from Atlanta might explain why she loves coming back there and playing tennis every year. She's been part of exhibition events played in the city, but her family also has roots there.
We'll see if that mystery man ever shows up on the courts, especially now that some people have figured out who the person is. However, judging by the fact that Gauff said he is about to apply for music school, that may not become reality so soon.
