Aryna Sabalenka battled and ultimately overcame Emma Raducanu in two sets at the 2024 Indian Wells Open, and she gave her honest opinion on the Brit after the match.

Raducanu's best run in recent months came at the Indian Wells Open, where she won a couple of matches and got a chance to play last year's finalist, Sabalenka. She played fairly well and held her own against the Belarusian for much of the match, but ultimately, she did get overpowered in two sets.

The good thing for her is that it was the best level she's produced this year, which is a positive development. Some of her showings this year have been less than stellar, and this was a much-needed confidence boost for the 2021 US Open champion.

After the match, Sabalenka had some things to say about Raducanu, and she praised her level in the match and her level in general, as well as the fight that she brought because Raducanu didn't really give up until the end.

"She's an incredible player and she played great tennis today, even though she didn't play much matches in the past couple of months. But still, I know that the level is there, and she can play some great tennis."

"But on those key moments, I was focusing on myself and things what I have to do on court to be in this match, and I think it's worked well. She fought till the end. She didn't give up in the last game. She was trying her best and during the match she was fighting for it."

The difference was ultimately made by Sabalenka as she stepped up in the big moments. Raduacnu needs a bit more time, but this has been a rather positive showing from the Brit, and fans are hopeful that more good things are coming.
