Emma Raducanu is currently away from the sport due to a wrist injury she suffered at the Ostrava Open, but she took time out of her recovery to visit the UK National Tennis Centre and spend some time with promising young players.

Raducanu last competed at the 2022 Ostrava Open, where she only managed one match against Daria Kasatkina. It hasn’t been the best season overall for Raducanu, as the British player struggled to find her best form.

She won fewer matches than she lost, which is not a good sign for someone aiming to be a Top 10 player and contend for Grand Slams. The unfortunate icing on the cake came in Ostrava, where she experienced wrist issues.

Now, she’s away from the sport but working hard to be ready for the start of the pre-season in the Persian Gulf. In the meantime, Raducanu took some time to visit the National Tennis Centre in the United Kingdom.

There, she spent time with future stars of the sport, sharing tips and lessons she’s learned from being a professional tennis player over the past few years. Raducanu, after all, became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam since 1977, making her an inspiration to the young players she spent time with.

A selfie Raducanu took with the young players was shared on the Twitter page of the Lawn Tennis Association with the caption:

"SURPRISE! @EmmaRaducanu dropped in on Sacred Heart High School's session at the National Tennis Centre ahead of the girls kick-starting their journey on the LTA Youth Tennis Leaders programme."

As for Raducanu, she’s expected to play a match in Abu Dhabi against Ons Jabeur after their match from last year was postponed to this year. Time will tell whether she’ll be ready for it.
