Emma Raducanu is believed to be set to tweak her coaching team again for the 2024 Australian Open.
Raducanu returned to tennis at the ASB Classic in Auckland. This was the Brit's first WTA tournament back in nearly nine months, since she lost against Jelena Ostapenko on the clay courts of Stuttgart in April.
The 2021 US Open champion was sidelined by injuries to her wrist and ankle, and had to have surgeries on both. It was a very difficult period for Raducanu, but she still said life never really slowed down during that period.
Raducanu impressed in her first tournament back. After beating Elena-Gabriela Ruse, she lost a high-quality contest to Elina Svitolina. Understandably, Raducanu was pretty proud of her efforts and hopeful about what the future holds.
Despite that promising start, the Daily Mail has reported that there are likely to be changes in Raducanu's team ahead of the first Grand Slam of the year.
Raducanu was supported by Jane O'Donoghue during the tournament in Auckland. However, the former GB player and coach now has a career in finance, and it is unclear if she can stay on for the Australian Open.
The Brit is set to play at the Kooyong Classic exhibition event next week rather than an official WTA Tour event, and it is expected that her childhood mentor, Nick Cavaday, will fly out to meet her in Melbourne.
Cavaday had a big influence on Raducanu's development into the player who sensationally won the US Open at the age of 18. Raducanu did some work with Cavaday in the UK before Christmas, and it seems that his influence is something she still values.
Raducanu is known for frequently changing her team. However, this is slightly different than before, since she is being joined by someone she knows well. Cavaday's influence could give Raducanu an extra boost in Melbourne.
