Bianca Andreescu provided an injury update on Twitter after rolling her ankle badly against Ekaterina Alexandrova in Miami.

Bianca Andreescu grabbed her ankle in pain after tumbling down in the middle of a rally with Ekaterina Alexandrova during their Miami Open match. The Canadian was playing a solid match trailing the Russian in sets but leading 2-0 in games in the second set at that time. Pictures of her being carted off in a wheelchair went around the world with fans worried about a serious injury.

It wasn't a pretty sight as Andreescu screamed in pain audibly saying 'Not again' before being attended to by professionals. She broke her silence on social media one day after it happened to explain that she's in a brace right now while awaiting MRI results. She once again reiterated that it was the worst pain she ever felt in her life.

Woke up with a brace on my foot… anyone know what happened? On a serious note tho… that was the worst pain I’ve ever felt… praying for nothing serious. Still waiting on official results. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and kind words, doesn’t go unnoticed

The injury comes at the worst possible time for Andreescu because she was playing some of the best tennis she played in the past couple of months. There was a clear chance for her to go deep in the event and improve upon her ranking but it was cut short by the injury.

The more important thing will be the status of the foot because it didn't look good. Ankle injuries are tricky to gauge by footage alone because sometimes it looks worse than it is yet the scenes looked eerily similar to Alexander Zverev's injury at Roland Garros last year.

The hope is that the injury is not that severe because that would be a long recovery for the Canadian.
