'Not Too Hard To Put Together': Gauff Delivers Savage Response To Hater

Professional tennis players have to deal with people on social media questioning them for anything they say, but Coco Gauff did not let one account get away with a comment about her that contained explicit language.

The US Open champion has had a hectic schedule in recent months, including the French Open, Wimbledon, and the Olympics. Unfortunately, her results during that period have not been as strong as the 20-year-old hoped.

Gauff was one of the favorites to win at least one medal at the Olympics. She entered the women's singles, women's doubles alongside Jessica Pegula, and the mixed doubles with Taylor Fritz.

Unfortunately, Gauff did not achieve her ambition of securing a medal. Her and Pegula's failure to do so in the women's doubles was especially disappointing since they were the top seeds at the Olympics.

Things did not become any easier in her two tournaments after the Olympics. The 2022 French Open runner-up lost in the round of 16 at the Canadian Open before falling in her first match at the Cincinnati Open.

Gauff's loss in Cincinnati meant she lost her place at No. 2 in the rankings. The American is also guaranteed to drop outside the Top 4 if she does not reach at least the semifinal at the US Open.

2016 Olympic gold medalist Monica Puig does not believe Gauff should be thinking about defending points. She encouraged her to focus on her game and build some form and confidence.

Gauff is one of the most active players on social media, meaning she sees many things said about her. Some of the rhetoric can be unpleasant, and the young star delivered a logical but cutting put-down of one account that questioned her.

In an interview with Tennis Channel, Gauff discussed her experience at the Olympic Village. She mentioned how the environment felt similar to a college campus due to the socializing and proximity of the other athletes.

Most people would not try to find an issue with those remarks. However, one account was bizarrely irritated by Gauff's comments, using explicit language while dismissing the idea of the American knowing what a college campus is like.

"How the f**k would Coco Gauff know what a college campus is? Please."

While Gauff was kind enough to ignore the account spelling her name wrong, the US Open champion gave the obvious reason why she would have an insight into college life despite not attending college herself and also ended her reply savagely.

"I'm a 20 year old who is friends with other 20 year olds who are not pro athletes. Not too hard to put together."

The response from Gauff was justified. It might make the account think twice before dismissing what she has to say without thinking and using unnecessary explicit language while posting about her.

Many unpleasant comments are made about athletes, and accounts feel they can get away with their nasty behavior. It is nice when a player responds directly to unnecessary remarks, and Gauff did that superbly.
