Coco Gauff is still only 18 years old, and she has a great future ahead of her as the 2022 season can shape her in the right direction.

Despite not winning a title, the teenager finished the season with 38 victories and climbed into the Top 10 of the WTA Rankings to finish the season as world no. 7. But this year wasn't just about the on-court moments for Gauff, who said:

"2022 was great on and off the court. I am a legal adult now. I voted for the first time and I got my driver's license. I lost it too on my birthday," Gauff said in an interview with Tennis Channel.

She also remembers the 2022 Roland Garros final, in which she lost to the highest-seeded Iga Swiatek, who collected her second major trophy in Paris.

"Pretty much upward from there, walking to the net, I just felt so happy and then the award ceremony during the final, I was very emotional. But then sadness and happiness, I think that's a moment in my life that will shape me to be better," Gauff said.

Following a big success in the French capital, Gauff experienced a small disappointment in London as she lost already in the third round of Wimbledon to compatriot Amanda Anisimova. Remembering the tournament, she said:

"Wimbledon I mean even though I didn't do what I wanted to do there, I still think it was a great tournament. Pretty much US Open was a blur, a good blur though. I know I skipped some parts, but that's kind of how it feels. I feel like I am skipping parts of my life in the season," Gauff said.
