According to many, Iga Swiatek is the number one favorite for the 2024 Australian Open, and we now know what racquet she'll be using in her campaign.
The 2024 Australian Open is only days away, which means that we'll see Iga Swiatek begin her quest for a fifth Grand Slam title. It's been a pretty solid event for her in the past because the court's quickness helps her dominate against opponents with ease.
It also contributes to some opponents giving her a lot of problems, as Elena Rybakina ended her dream last year. This year, though, the Pole is entering as the number one favorite because she's just in amazing form once again.
She's played five singles matches so far in Australia and won all of them. With the way she finished last year and the way she opened this year, there is no reason to really doubt her, especially with how cool her racquet looks.
The Polish player just unveiled her racquet, which she'll use during this campaign, and it's a really nice piece of equipment. She's been using Tecnifibre racquets for a while, as they really fit her style of play.
She's so comfortable with them that she actually committed to the company until 2026 by signing a new deal in June of 2023. The company has good representation in tennis, as both she and Daniil Medvedev use the racquets from Tecnifibre.
Ahead of the season's first Grand Slam, the world no. 1 made an announcement on social media, showing off the racquet and confirming that it will be her new racquet.
"New season, new racquet."
Her first match at the Australian Open won't be an easy one as she's facing former champion Sofia Kenin. If you want to see the Pole's new racquet, be sure to see it below.
