Eugenie Bouchard finally made her new relationship with Jack Brinkley-Cook public via Instagram.
The Canadian received a surprise main draw wildcard at the tournament in Guadalajara merely weeks ago. She would end up losing in the second round, but put up a good fight against Russia's Veronika Kudermetova on the day.
But perhaps what has not come as much of a shock is Bouchard confirming that she is in a relationship with Jack Brinkley-Cook.
Both Bouchard and Brinkley-Cook were spotted several times together and enjoying one another's company. In addition to this, Brinkley-Cook was a notable spectator in Bouchard's player box when she competed at the Madrid Open earlier this year.
Brinkley-Cook is no stranger to life in the public eye and perhaps can empathize with Bouchard's struggles on a tennis court in recent seasons. He is the son of Christie Brinkley, who is both a supermodel actress and a recognized entrepreneur. She has also appeared in many TV shows and films in addition to that.
It remains to be seen just how much we will see Bouchard compete on a tennis court in the months and years to come and whether she can potentially get to the level that took her to Top-5 in the WTA rankings back in 2014.
Bouchard has not made the last eight of a tournament at any level since back in 2020, has failed to win a tour-level title since Nuremberg in 2014, and hasn't won consecutive matches at an event since Madrid earlier this year.
The Canadian has already committed to a full season of Pickleball in the upcoming 2024 season, is currently ranked outside the World's Top-200, and tennis seems to be one of her lesser priorities at present. However, life off the court seems to be just where Bouchard wants it, with a blossoming relationship and other things to make her happy aside from hard-earned victories in tennis.
