Emma Raducanu has completed her second of three surgeries that she elected to undergo after a series of injuries.
The Brit has been battling injuries since her triumphant 2021 US Open victory. Unfortunately, her fans will have to wait a little longer to see her back in action, as Raducanu recently underwent the second of three planned surgeries to address ongoing issues with her wrists and ankle.
This most recent surgery focused on Raducanu's left ankle, the one she injured on 'incredibly slipper courts' in Auckland earlier this year. With one of her wrists and her ankle now done, the Brit will now undergo left wrist surgery, which alongside the other two will force her to miss out on this year's Roland Garros and Wimbledon Championships.
Raducanu has been open about her struggles, acknowledging the impact of her injuries on her performance and training regimen. She expressed gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support, even as she faced the reality of a prolonged absence from the sport she loves.
It seems that the British no. 1 is able to go through the surgeries with a smile on her face as she seemed in a good mood after her first but also after her second surgery, after which she was captured with a big smile on her face.
As she continues her road to recovery, Raducanu's determination to overcome these obstacles serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes everywhere. The 2021 US Open champion was not afraid of further rankings drop and took the time away to solve the issues that were limiting her potential.
While Raducanu's timeline for returning to the court remains uncertain, and most probably she will be back only when the time is right to prevent further injuries from occurring. In the meantime, her fans can take solace in her positive outlook and the knowledge that she is taking the necessary steps to ensure a successful and lasting comeback.
