Coco Gauff is getting ready to play her fourth Australian Open, and she'll do see in a pretty bright yellow kit by New Balance.
Coco Gauff started her 2024 season preparation very early in November and it paid off in the first week. She returned to Auckland in hopes of defeding the trophy won the previous year and did just that by beating Elina Svitolina in the final. 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-3.
What's coming up next for the 19-year-old is the Australian Open, a longstanding event which is the first of the four Grand Slams in the calendar. Four is the number of times Gauff would have played at the event upon this year's conclusion, and it's not been the best major for her.
You could say it's been her worst in some ways, which is interesting to note. Her debut came in 2021, and it was a second-round loss to Svitolina, 4-6, 3-6. The following year saw her lose in the first round against Qiang Wang 4-6, 2-6, and last year saw her best run.
She made the fourth round by beating Katerina Siniakova, Emma Raducanu, and Bernarda Pera and then lost to Jelena Ostapenko 5-7, 3-6. This year is an opportunity to finally make it past the fourth round and make a true statement on the courts with her racquet.
She will certainly make a statement with her fashion as her kit by New Balance has been published and it's a pretty bright Aussie yellow-inspired one. The other version is a full navy one which looks pretty cool and would look even better with a trophy in hand.
Gauff has been with New Balance for years now and enjoys working with the team. the American shared some nice words about the company when she extended her deal with the company, and she's clearly happy about her sponsor.
I couldn't ask for a more committed team that is forward-thinking in their approach and match my love for the game with their passion for quality and creativity. New Balance has supported me since my junior tennis years and has been by my side for the biggest moments of my career.
The team feels like family, so it was an easy decision to extend with a team that has embraced me as a person and genuinely works to help bring out my best.
