Coco Gauff is one of the most talented players on the WTA Tour, and she will now also have her own signature shoe, which will be launched next week.
The young American player has been displaying her talent for quite some time now. Last year, she finished as the World No. 22 in singles and No. 21 in doubles, and this year, it's obvious she took another step forward.
While most players in tennis are sponsored either by Nike or Adidas, which are two giants in the sports apparel world, Gauff's sponsor is New Balance, a company she has worked with since her early teenage years.
With Gauff being one of the most recognized athletes signed to New Balance, the company has a chance to honor the American player by creating special designs only for her, and in this case, they made a signature shoe for Gauff.
The 18-year-old player revealed her new signature shoes during her exhibition match against Taylor Townsend at the Atlanta Open held at Atlantic Station just one month ago.
She is currently the only female tennis player to have her own signature shoe, called the New Balance Coco CG1. Portraying how special that is, Roger Federer is the only other active player except Gauff, who has his own signature shoes.
While the shoes were already available to Gauff, fans were not yet able to buy them, but that will change in the coming week, as her signature shoes will be released to sale globally.
Starting on August 26th, 2022, fans should be able to buy New Balance Coco CG1 shoes all around the world. While some will use it to show their support for the player, there will certainly be also buyers who will just like the shoes and buy them because of the design.
The shoes' launch to the global market was announced by New Balance on social media along with pictures explaining some details of the shoes.
"Years in the making. Inside the design process of the Coco CG1. Coco Gauff’s new signature shoe draws inspiration from what is important to Coco. These aspects were brought to life through the color, style, and details you can find on the shoe. On-court now. Launching globally in select markets on August 26."
