Ashleigh Barty is a married woman as the Australian revealed the news to the world by posting a simple photo of her and her husband Garry Kissick walking hand in hand with the caption 'Husband and Wife'.
Barty retired at the start of the year after lifting the Australian Open trophy and to many, it came as a surprise. To those in her inner circle, it was something known as Barty contemplated it for quite a while. It's not a decision that she made quickly and she confirmed that multiple times since then.
The decision is one that left Barty free to pursue other passions and spend time with loved ones which she enjoys. Some have speculated that Barty was getting serious in her private life as well with some speculating that marriage and possible children were planned in the near future. One part of that assumption seemed to be true as Barty tied the knot earlier this year in a private and secret ceremony.
She and her partner were surrounded by family members and close friends who witness the ceremony in Queensland.
