2024 Hobart International WTA Players' Entry List - Stephens, Mertens, Navarro & more
The 2024 Hobart International promises a lot of exciting action with a very solid entry list for a WTA 250 tournament held from January 8th to 13th, 2024.
The WTA 250 event held at the Hobart International Tennis Centre doesn't always attract the strongest field, as it's held between WTA 500 tournaments and the Australian Open, but every year some good players find their way to Hobart.
In 2024, it will be the 2017 US Open champion, Sloane Stephens, who will compete at the tournament. Ahead of the event, the tournament organizers were sad to announce that last year's champion, Lauren Davis had to withdraw from the tournament.
"Whilst we’re excited to announce our full field today, unfortunately Lauren Davis has had to make the tough decision to withdraw due to injury. We wish her a really good recovery and hope to see her back for our 30th Hobart International in 2025."
Without Davis, many players get a chance to show their qualities and fight for the first title of the season. The top-ranked Elise Mertens will certainly be one of those players, and so will Emma Navarro.
Marie Bouzkova, Xinyu Wang, Lin Zhu, Linda Noskova, and Martina Trevisan are all talented players who can surprise at any tournament, and so their chances of winning the Hobart International will be significant, given no Top 25 player signed up for the tournament.
Therefore, also the likes of Varvara Gracheva, Caroline Dolehide, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, and Sara Sorribes Tormo will want to challenge for the trophy, and you can check the full entry list for the tournament below.
