2023 Jiangxi Open Nanchang WTA Prize Money & Points Overview

The 2023 Jiangxi Open is a WTA 250 event and will run from October 16th to 22nd in Nanchang, China, as a part of a jam-packed schedule during the Asian swing.

The entry list for this year's tournament was released and tennis fans are looking ahead to what should be an intriguing week of high-quality tennis in Nanchang. In 2019, Rebecca Peterson went against the grain by becoming the first foreign champion in the land since the event was upgraded to become part of the WTA Tour.

The Swede won't come back to defend her crown, but there is a lot to be excited about judging by the talent on paper. Three Top 20 players are part of the fold. These are Liudmila Samsonova, Beatriz Haddad Maia and Veronika Kudermetova.

China is well represented in the draw. Lin Zhu, Xinyu Wang, and newly-crowned Guangzhou champion Xiyu Wang will descend on Nanchang for the chance to preserve the good record that home players have protected in the past.

The likes of Marta Kostyuk, Anna Blinkova, Magda Linette, and Marie Bouzkova add plenty of versatility. This quartet are all ranked in the world's Top 40. There is a genuine chance we might see a surprise champion at the event.

The 32 singles players will fight for the top prize in Nanchang, which is $34,228 for the champion and 280 points. The runner-up will add 180 points in the WTA rankings and $20,226 to their net worth.

Prize money and points distribution in the main draw starts at $2,804 and only one point for those that exit the tournament at the first hurdle. On the other hand, those making it to the second round of the Jiangxi Open will be awarded 30 points and a cash prize of $3,920.
