All-time great Serena Williams has made it onto the 'Elle 100 Women Change Makers' list, which recognises those who have used their voice and status to make a lasting impact for the good of society.

Williams was part of a group of four tennis players to have made the list. The others were Ashleigh Barty, Emma Raducanu and Naomi Osaka.

Emma Raducanu won the 2021 US Open at the age of 18, making her the first British woman to win a Grand Slam title since 1977. With that win, she also became the first ever player across either tour, in the Open Era, to win a Grand Slam tournament as a qualifier.

Naomi Osaka is the first Asian to be ranked World No. 1. As well as her formidable hard-court prowess, Osaka is also a successful entrepreneur, and is an outspoken and committed activist to civil rights, the ending of gun violence, and equal rights for all. The four-time major champion started her own media company this year called Hana Kuma and has a number of endorsements with famous brands.

Serena Williams is, for many, the greatest tennis player that has ever lived. She has used her powerful voice to fight for racial justice, gender pay equality, and affordable healthcare for mothers and babies.

Williams retired earlier this year with 23 Grand Slam titles to her name. Although she remains one behind Margaret Court, the off-court impact Williams has had puts her ahead of the Australian in most people's minds.

Ashleigh Barty shockingly retired from tennis earlier this year. The former World No. 1 has done a lot of work to improve the lives of communities in her home country of Australia, a cause that is close to her heart. The 26-year-old won three Grand Slam titles and a WTA Finals title, before stunning the world by retiring at just 25 years of age.
