ATP world No. 1 Jannik Sinner surprised fans by starting his own YouTube channel a few days after winning the 2025 Australian Open title.
Sinner secured his second Australian Open by defeating Alexander Zverev in straight sets in the final. It was the Italian's third Grand Slam title, only dropping two sets throughout his exceptional run in Melbourne.
Despite repeatedly shining on the world stage in the last 12 months, Sinner has also developed a reputation for being an introverted and quietly spoken person who does not naturally crave the spotlight like many other former champions.
However, Sinner might be making a conscious effort to show more of his personality after starting a YouTube channel in a move that no one saw coming and had not been teased by the two-time Australian Open winner beforehand.
Sinner's first video on YouTube was a vlog about his Australian Open title run, which can be watched below. It was an interesting viewing and showed a markedly more relaxed Sinner than fans would be used to seeing in interviews and press conferences.
The vlog starts six days before the final against Zverev. Sinner greets those watching in his room and says he would have an easy day without too much hard work. He had not eaten breakfast on that particular day.
Sinner shows clips of him doing some light gym work before having a relaxed hit with his team. As promised at the start of the vlog, the hit was not strenuous because he wanted to be fresh for the quarterfinal against Alex de Minaur.
That first vlog occurred the day after Sinner's fourth-round victory against Holger Rune. After waking up unwell in the morning, he felt ill before and during that match, making his light work even more understandable the following day.
The day after his quarterfinal win, Sinner showed more gym work before another hit with his team. That was followed by some good-natured banter with his driver about him being the best in the world.
Sinner admitted in the video that he was not thinking too much about the final after overcoming Ben Shelton in the semifinal. The 23-year-old thinks it is essential to enjoy such moments and not get too stressed.
There was close-up footage in the video of Sinner winning the match point to seal the Australian Open title and embracing his team afterward before more celebrations in the locker room once the trophy ceremony was completed.
In his hotel room after the final, Sinner thanked everyone who supported him, saying that victories were a good time to appreciate those who had been there for him. He then left to celebrate with his team.
Sinner's video received a highly positive reception from fans. It was nice to get a behind-the-scenes insight into his routines and actions. Hopefully, he posts regularly on his channel.
The world No. 1 will not be in action again for a while after withdrawing from the Rotterdam Open. He cited the need to rest after the Australian Open as the reason for that move.
