Novak Djokovic won yet another match at the 2025 Australian Open, but it wasn't without some drama again.

After beating Nishesh Basavareddy, Jaime Faria, and Tomas Machac, Djokovic took on yet another Czech player, this time Jiri Lehecka. Prior to this fourth-round match, Lehecka was undefeated in 2025, having won the title in Brisbane and winning all three of his matches in Melbourne.

But the occasion was probably too big for the Czech player. Competing at the Rod Laver Arena against the ten-time Australian Open champion, Lehecka couldn't stay calm at all, making one unforced error after another.

At the start of the match, both players were able to hold their serve, and the Czech player was able to stay within striking distance. But that was only until when he served at 3-4 down.

Djokovic worked his way to two consecutive break points, leading 40-15 on his opponent's serve. Lehecka felt the pressure, and he didn't handle his nerves well at all, hitting a double fault, which cost him his serve.

As a result, Djokovic broke to lead 5-3, and serving out the opening set wasn't an issue for the ATP World No. 7. He won the first set of the match 6-3, establishing an important lead in the match.

At the start of the second set, Lehecka likely felt the disappointment of how quickly the first set ended. He didn't play a good first game at all and immediately lost his serve.

The Czech player then had one break-back point, but another unforced error cost him a chance to break the Serbian. Djokovic, on the other hand, had four more chances to break in the second set.

Although the 24-time major winner couldn't use any other break chance in the second set, he didn't need to, as he had a one-break lead from the opening game of the second set.

Thanks to that, Djokovic was able to cruise also to an easy second-set win. He won the set 6-4, and Lehecka's chances went from low to almost non-existent.

Djokovic broke first at the start of the third set again, but this time, he couldn't hold the advantage. Lehecka broke his opponent's serve for the first time in the match and leveled the score.

From there, the 37-year-old Serbian had two more chances to break, but Lehecka finally improved his level in the third set, especially on his serve. That helped him when facing any challenging situation in the third set.

Since both held their serve, a tie-break had to decide, and Djokovic once again showed his experience. While Lehecka played too cautiously and made mistakes, the Serbian player didn't miss, and he eventually won the match 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4).

Djokovic reached the quarter-finals of the 2025 Australian Open, and in that match, he will take no other but Carlos Alcaraz. After the match, Jim Courier awaited the Serbian on the court to conduct an on-court interview, but that didn't happen.

Djokovic took the microphone from Courier, announcing that he wouldn't do an on-court interview, which was likely a response to some of the disrespectful fans.

"Thank you very much for being here tonight. I appreciate your presence and support, and I'll see you in the next round. Thank you very much."

However, Djokovic stayed on the court after the match, signing the autographs for his fans. That showed he likely wasn't in a rush or didn't have any health issues. Instead, he didn't want to address those who were trying to distract him. Instead, he dedicated time to his fans.
