Elena Rybakina's quest for a second Grand Slam title at the 2025 Australian Open will include the Kazakhstani looking stylish in an outfit that has already been revealed.
Rybakina's 2024 season was a tale of two halves. The 25-year-old started very strongly but then sustained problems that ended the momentum she had built in the year's opening months.
Although Rybakina suffered a surprising early loss at the Australian Open, she won three WTA 500 titles at the Brisbane International, beating Aryna Sabalenka in the final, the Abu Dhabi Open, and the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.
The 2022 Wimbledon champion was also runner-up at the Qatar Open and Miami Open. Rybakina began this year's Wimbledon as the favorite but suffered a brutal defeat to eventual champion Barbora Krejcikova in the semifinal.
Things became more challenging after that defeat. Rybakina missed the Olympics because of an illness and had to apologize to the Kazakhstani fans because of how devastated they were.
That was followed by even more shocking news a few days later when Rybakina announced she and coach of five years, Stefano Vukov, had split after working together for over five years.
Rybakina withdrew a few hours before her second-round match at the US Open and did not compete again for over two months until the WTA Finals. At the time, she claimed this was due to illnesses and injuries.
However, a well-known journalist reported that Rybakina had psychological issues after working with Vukov, who regularly received criticism for being overly harsh and even abusive to Rybakina during matches.
The former Wimbledon winner could not get out of her group at the WTA Finals, but she did manage a morale-boosting triumph against the year-end world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in her final match of the tournament.
Rybakina has not hidden her hopes for 2025. She wants to win more Grand Slams and become the world's No. 1. Her chances of doing so may have improved after she made a high-profile coaching appointment in the closing stages of 2024.
Rybakina started working with Novak Djokovic's former coach, Goran Ivanisevic, during the off-season. The 2001 Wimbledon champion had a highly successful five-year spell with Djokovic, which included winning ten Grand Slams.
Working with Ivanisevic is an exciting development, but it does not guarantee that Rybakina will be successful. What fans can be sure of is that the Kazakhstani player will wear a superb outfit designed by Yonex.
The outfit can be seen below. Rybakina will wear a red and white dress. The bottom part of the dress is almost entirely white, while the top half has more red than white.
Rybakina's shoes are close to fully red. The white Yonex logo and some white stripes on the top and side are the only deviations from the shoe's red color, creating a look that matches the dress excellently.
The outfit is completed with a color reversal for her hat. It is almost entirely white, with the Yonex logo in the center of it being red. That completes an excellent look that Yonex must be proud of.
