The first ATP 250 tournament of the 2026 season will be held in Brisbane, and the draw has been released.
The 2026 Brisbane International draw will belong among the strongest ATP 250 draws of the season. Some of the best tennis players in the world chose to start their season at the Queensland Tennis Centre.
The top seed is the only former ATP world No. 1 and Grand Slam champion in the draw. Daniil Medvedev will play his first match of the season at the Brisbane International, and that match will be against Marton Fucsovics, who is always a challenging opponent.
Medvedev has played in Brisbane only once before, reaching the final of the 2019 edition. But there will be plenty of former winners in the draw. Grigor Dimitrov is a two-time champion, having won the tournament in 2017 and 2024.
In 2026, Dimitrov will return to the tennis courts in Brisbane after barely playing in the closing stages of the 2025 season. The Bulgarian player will compete against one of the qualifiers in Brisbane, and if he wins, he could take on the fifth-seeded Denis Shapovalov, who will also play a qualifier in the first round.
Jiri Lehecka is another former champion in the draw. The Czech player is the defending winner, having won the tournament in 2025. This year, he is the top seed and will start against fellow compatriot Tomas Machac.
Nick Kyrgios is another former winner in the Brisbane International draw. Kyrgios won the tournament in 2018 and will return to the tennis courts in Brisbane after missing the rest of the season following the Miami Open last year. He already played a match at the start of this season,
beating Aryna Sabalenka in the Battle of the Sexes.
In Brisbane, Kyrgios needed a wild card to enter the main draw. He will play against Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round. In case of a success, the home crowd favorite would challenge the winner of the match between Cameron Norrie and Ugo Humbert.
19-year-old Joao Fonseca will likely attract huge crowds as well. The teenage Brazilian will play against last year's finalist, Reilly Opelka, in the first round of the tournament.
There will be plenty of exciting first-round matches in Brisbane. For example, Valentin Vacherot will play against Sebastian Korda, and Frances Tiafoe will clash with Aleksandar Vukic.
