Olympia Ohanian, the daughter of Serena Williams is all right at tennis according to her mother who revealed the fact during a recent appearance on the Ellen Show.

Talking to Ellen DeGeneres, Williams spoke about Olympia and her journey with tennis that began from a very early age. Obviously being surrounded by racquets and tennis from a very young age sparked interest and that interest turned into some tennis lessons. Williams was asked how well she was doing and the proud mother gave a fair assessment:

"She can hit a good backhand but it's not consistent. She’s alright. I would say I’ve seen four-year-olds that might take her out. It’s so weird, but I don’t really like to play with people who don’t know how to play tennis well. It drives me nuts. So I signed her up for a class, you know, a private teacher.”

That response caught Ellen by surprise who followed up with a question why she was not teaching her daughter to which Williams replied that she doesn't have the patience for it. She also explained that she did not reveal who she was to the private teacher when signing up her daughter. What a surprise that will be.

The 40-years-old American lifted a Grand Slam trophy last time back in 2017. Since winning the Australian Open that year, Serena Williams is trying to win the record-equalling 24th Grand Slam title, even in her forties.

Playing for such a long time, and still being competitive is also one of the reasons why she's been an inspiration for many. In her recent collaboration with Gatorade, Serena opened up about mentorship, when she said:

"Mentorship means a lot to me, I feel like in my position I have an opportunity to mentor and be inspiring to young athletes, whether it's male or female. I embrace leading by example, otherwise I just go and I just do the best I can when I can. Advice I would give to young athlete is just make goals for yourself. I think it's important to have an end goal and then smaller goals that get you there. If I could tell my young self one thing, I would say stay strong."
