Novak Djokovic did what he intended to do once he touched down in Israel and that is to win the trophy at the Tel Aviv Open.

The Serbian put in a really strong effort in the final to take advantage of all of Cilic's known flaws and win the match 6-3 6-4. These two players are well acquainted with one another and are from the same region of the world and it was clear from the way the match progressed. Djokovic, who possesses the greater talent among them, won the majority of these scuffles.

In the match, Cilic gave his all, but it was simply insufficient. He needed to serve great; he served decently. He played aggressively but missed more than he should have to make a difference and Djokovic chose his spots better overall.

In the first set, one break was sufficient to secure victory as Cilic did not have a single break chance. Even though it came only after he had given up his serve to begin the set, Cilic performed considerably better in the second set. With the score at 2-3, a rare break point came but the world number seven immediately squashed that hope for Cilic.

Djokovic finished the match with a strong service game and some amazing stats highlight his outstanding performance during the match.
