US Open and the USTA will organize a charity event for Ukraine, hoping to raise as much as two million U.S. dollars from it.

The event will be hosted by Patrick McEnroe and broadcast on ESPN+, with many top players taking part. Rafael Nadal is one of the leading players who will take part in the charity event.

Carlos Alcaraz is another player who has signed up for the charity event, even though he was one of the players who didn't publicly take a stance on the War in Ukraine.

A couple of other players have also signed up for the event, including Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Matteo Berrettini, who was public about his disappointment when Wimbledon was stripped of ATP points this year.

Taylor Fritz, on the other hand, publicly stated that the stripping was a correct decision, and he will participate in the event too. Former ATP World No. 1, John McEnroe, will also take part, as will the likes of Leylah Fernandez, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and more.

Iga Swiatek also signed up after she stagged her own charity event that raised close to half a million euros for Ukraine. Victoria Azarenka is the only player from Belarus or Russia who signed up for the charity, as she publicly took a stance against the war from the beginning.

The event will take place on August 24th, which is the Independence Day of Ukraine, and will last for about two hours. There will be a series of singles and doubles matches played. USTA Chairman Mike McNulty released a statement saying:

"The US Open is a stage that attracts millions of passionate fans, and it is incumbent upon us to help guide this passion to help those who desperately need it. This is a vitally important cause, and I'm proud of the way in which our sport has rallied together to lend a much-needed hand to our friends in Ukraine."

"I'm likewise proud that we are able to use the global platform of the US Open to enhance the giving effort, and I urge everyone to do all they can to help us show the people of Ukraine that we stand with them in their time of need."
