WATCH: Medvedev bashes slow Indian Wells courts - ‘I’m gonna p** as slow as this court is’

Daniil Medvedev was very unhappy with the speed of the courts in Indian Wells, claiming they are falsely advertised as hard courts.
The Russian is not a fan of slow courts as he generally prefers tennis to be played at a faster pace. It allows him to hit his incredible cross-court winners, which he excels in.
Slow courts allow players to return most of those, and his game becomes far less efficient. That's why he was angry during his match in Indian Wells, explaining that it was really hard to win a point for him.
"[In the] second set I don’t feel like I was playing bad. It’s just that you hit 10 good shots in the rally and it could be not enough. That’s tough."- Medvedev on the conditions in Indian Wells
Playing at night certainly didn't help because the conditions slowed down even more as opposed to daytime, which is when his previous match was played.
After losing the second set, Medvedev complained to umpire Mohamed Lahyani about the courts in a funny way, claiming that he would take his time when using the restroom the same way the courts are slow.
"I’m gonna p** as slow as this court is. So you can take 25 minutes. The court is slow so I go slow, I take my time. I don’t accept this. They say on the fact sheet this is hard courts. This is not hard courts."- Medvedev to Lahyani
His next matchup doesn't look like it's going to be much quicker as he will play against Alexander Zverev, and Medvedev himself referenced the likelihood of many long rallies.
