Following some impressive recent form from Rafael Nadal, former ATP player Andy Roddick says he is impressed with the level of the Spaniard.
Following a record 14th Roland Garros title quickly followed a transition to the grass, which saw him get to another Wimbledon semi-final; it appears that Nadal is aging like a good wine.
It is certainly not something that has gone unnoticed in the tennis world, with fans, pundits, and ex-pros all praising the Spanish great for what he continues to achieve even at the ripe old age of 36.
For example, US Open champion and American legend Andy Roddick recently had his say on what Nadal continues to achieve in the sport.
"I just can't get my balance on Rafael Nadal's future. I was convinced that Rafa would never be competitive after 30 with that style of play. Not only is he still on the crest of the wave, but he has won the Australian Open and Roland Garros this year to reach 22 Grand Slams."
Going on to speak in awe of what Nadal has managed to achieve even when he is supposedly past his prime, Roddick appeared visually speechless by the Spaniard.
"What he is doing is just crazy. The way he won Roland Garros left everyone speechless, his foot was completely numb. I ran out of words to describe Nadal."
Andy Roddick played against Rafael Nadal 10 times, and the American managed to beat him three. Despite the record not being in his favor, Roddick did have the pleasure of 'beguiling' the Spaniard during the pair's first meeting at the US Open.
However, it is Nadal who ended up having the last laugh, still winning Grand Slams aged 36. The title in Paris ended up being his 14th crown on the Court Phillipe Chatrier as well as his 22nd Grand Slam.
