Novak Djokovic's Wimbledon loss was celebrated by some such as the Montenegrin journalist whom Srdjan Djokovic blasted in a recent interview.
Novak Djokovic isn't an athlete with a super clean image as there were some controversies over the years. The Serbian rarely goes out of his way to create controversy but some of the moves he had over the years certainly rubbed some people the wrong way.
His father Srdjan Djokovic is no less controversial as he had some rather bombastic claims over the years, some that even Djokovic was reluctant to talk about. He was recently asked to react to a very emphatic anti-Djokovic comment a Montenegrin reporter had.
Serbia and Montenegro used to be one country until the latter declared independence and relations have been chilly ever since. There are a lot of Serbians still living in Montenegro though relations between Montenegrins and Serbians are not that great. That might be at the root of the reaction which went a little like this.
What did you do to him, Carlitos? So many illegal crazy volleys, slices and bombs that should be banned. And to inflame so much anger among lumberjacks who don't even know how to count games, but know enough to curse a 20-year-old boy who amazed the world? How many shepherds will stop watching tennis and cry in anguish on my wall? The Spaniard has given Novak a new nickname. LOAT, as many as 12 lost finals, the most in the Open Era, he is the 'loser of all times'.
Srdjan Djokovic was asked about that in a recent interview and he brushed it aside wishing the person to get some help.
May God help that man. If he can even be helped, and if he really means everything he wrote.
