Daniil Medvedev played another strong match to finish off the job in Los Cabos by beating Cameron Norrie 7-5 6-0 in the final.
Medvedev played superb tennis all week long and he extended that to the final. It wasn't a perfect final from Medvedev but it came pretty close to it. The Russian took an early lead but allowed Norrie to come back. He would break him again but stumble at 5-4 when serving for the first set. He still did not panic as he broke Norrie once more to close out the set 7-5.
It was just a display of how dangerous Medvedev on hard courts really us. The Russian acts like a wall and it's incredibly hard to win any kind of rally against him. You really need to play as well as you can Norrie was able to keep that up for a while.
As competitive as the first set was, the 2nd set wasn't. Medvedev broke Norrie early and he added two more for the bagel asserting his dominance. The win guarantees Medvedev a longer stay on number one, at least until the US Open and he certainly proved his status on the court.
