Another Blow: Raonic Forced To Withdraw From Queen's Club Due To Injury

Milos Raonic is facing another devastating blow in his career as he was forced to withdraw from the 2023 Cinch Championships.

Not many players on the ATP Tour had to deal with more injuries than the 32-year-old Canadian. After being away from the tennis courts for almost two years, Raonic finally announced his comeback recently, and he even competed.

The tall Canadian won in his first match back at the 2023 Libema Open, and he was really happy about being back on the tennis court, but especially, he was thankful for getting another shot at doing the sport that he loves.

After all, Raonic was able to win in his first match after not picking up a racquet for a year over a two-year hiatus, showing the incredible talent that he possesses. Yet, after he lost in 's-Hertogenbosch and moved to London for the 2023 Cinch Championships, another disappointment awaited the former World No. 3.

This time, a shoulder injury forced the Canadian to withdraw from the ATP 500 tournament held at the Queen's Club, where he was supposed to play against Jordan Thompson, the player who beat him in the Netherlands, in the first round.

Yet, the second match between the two in one week won't happen, and Raonic won't get a chance to take revenge for the previous loss, as he probably wants to make sure he gets one more chance to compete at Wimbledon.

The shoulder injury is one that would keep any tennis player out of play, but especially the Canadian, as he relies on big serves. Staying away from the tennis court for some extra time to heal for the Grand Slam tournament in the All England Club may be the best decision for Raonic right now, and only time will tell if he'll make it in time for the third major of the season.
