Andy Murray seems to be improving every week. This time, he beat the ATP World No. 5 player, Stefanos Tsitsipas, at the 2022 Stuttgart Open.

The former ATP World No. 1 started his grass-court preparation already last week in Surbiton, where he reached the semi-finals before eventually losing to Denis Kudla.

This week, he defeated Christopher O'Connell, Alexander Bublik, and the first-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas to reach the semi-finals at the 2022 Stuttgart Open.

Prior to their meeting, the Greek player played only one match, as he was the top seed. His only opponent was Dominic Stricker, who Tsitsipas beat without too many issues. Against Murray, however, it was a different story.

In the first set of the match, the Greek player didn't lose a single point in four out of six of his service games. He also had a set point when leading 6-5, but his opponent saved it, and the set reached the tie-break.

Both players continued to serve really well, as fans saw only one mini-break. Murray was the player who had it, and after holding his serve in the remainder of the tie-break, he was able to win the first set 7-4 in the tie-break in 58 minutes.

After a long wait, fans got to see the first break of serve in the match as well. In the sixth game of the second set, the British player was pushing his opponent to the limits from the start of the game and eventually forced one break point, which he successfully converted to get a crucial lead in the set.

Murray then showed his qualities as he held his serve in all of his remaining service games to win the match 7-6(4), 6-3 and advance into the semi-finals of the 2022 Stuttgart Open.

He will now meet the winner of the match between Marton Fucsovics and Nick Kyrgios, who is a very difficult opponent on any surface, but especially on grass.
